Mike Ayling, Consultancy Services Manager

Mike has spoken at various events including the IWFM and has presented on asbestos, air and water quality, legionella, energy and the environment, WEEE and waste, stress, mobile working, and health and safety. He's previously worked as an Asbestos analyst.

Mike will provide a practitioners guide to successful asbestos management.

Richard Bennion, Managing Director

Richard is a pragmatic and energetic safety, health and environmental leader with 23 years’ experience, operating as an advisor and mentor to directors, senior leaders and other SHE professionals. He as diverse experience successfully influencing internal and external stakeholders, to establish robust asbestos risk management systems which ensure corporate responsibilities are met.  His experience is diverse and covers the private and public sectors, working in the field of logistics, construction, utilities, facilities management, engineering, healthcare and highway maintenance.

Richard will demonstrate practical use and benefits of FAAM membership and how it can assist with facilities and estate management.

Jonathan Ford, Quality Manager - Asbestos

Jonathan is WYG’s Asbestos Consultancy Quality Manager with over 17 years experience in the asbestos industry, he is primarily responsible for Quality Control under UKAS accreditation and for training in relation to asbestos.

His role involves responsibility for and growth of WYG’s UKAS accredited asbestos capability, supervision of internal & external quality control schemes, managing the training and audit regimes for survey and analytical activities, and developing and delivering UKATA-approved training courses.

Jonthan will demonstrate:

  • Asbestos Risks and Management, including update on the latest asbestos health statistics from the HSE and an overview of the CAR2012 Reg 4 “Duty to Manage”
  • What is FAAM? The structure and objectives of FAAM.
  • Value of FAAM to members, employers and clients. How each level of stakeholder can derive benefits from FAAM membership.
