BIM data for FM systems: a practical how-to guide

Join us for part two of this two-part webinar series when a panel of industry and technology experts will provide practical advice on the essential aspects of successfully planning and managing the transfer of BIM data into operational systems. There will also be a Q&A where you can submit your questions.

They will address the importance of timely exchanges of asset data and building information, address technical considerations, and explain how to successfully get BIM data into CAFM, ERP and other management systems.

As key stakeholders involved in Building Information Modelling (BIM) projects, it is essential that facilities managers (FMs) have clear insight into the BIM process and the value that BIM data can play in the operational phase.  The development and adoption of the UK BIM Framework and the ISO 19650 series of international standards has created a trusted means of providing a fully populated asset data set at handover. Yet all too often questions concerning the how, when and whys of leveraging BIM information can be a major stumbling block.

In part one, which will be broadcasted live on Thursday 6 May and available as a recording on the IWFM YouTube channel in w/c 10 May, we provide the overview of BIM data; now join us to learn how to utilise it yourself and put your questions to our experts.
