Register now for episode 29 of ‘Navigating turbulent times’ when we mark the launch of our new technology report produced in partnership with Microsoft, ‘Bridging FM’s digital divide: the power of digital partnerships’, and discuss how the workplace and facilities management profession can overcome tech skills gaps and rise to the digital challenge by utilising partnerships with tech companies.
In the 2018 IWFM report ‘Embracing technology to move FM forward’, we identified a troubling issue: the FM community had low levels of tech knowledge and a sense of complacency about the profession’s digital future. The challenge was clear: we needed to help the profession ‘bridge the digital divide’ and embrace technology.
Our response to that challenge was to partner with tech giant Microsoft and co-produce ‘Bridging FM’s digital divide: the power of digital partnerships’, which aims to explore, through fictional and real case study examples: what it means to be digitally literate and the benefits of improving digital literacy in the FM profession; what a digitally transformed FM profession might look like in the future; how FMs can harness digital technologies through partnership approaches; and the issues that FMs need to be aware of when using emerging digital technologies, including digital ethics and data security.
Join us Wednesday when our guests will share the background to this report, the content focus and the key findings, as well as the importance of ‘personas’ in order to explore these key outcomes.
