Overview

Learn about inclusive design and management at this CPD and networking event with International SIG.

Legislation has long been the driver for managing accessibility, but with diversity an ongoing trend, brand reputation a constant concern, and growing awareness of the broad spectrum of disabilities (from the physical to the neurological), FMs need to consider the wider context to the built environment.

As well as showcasing the new third edition of IWFM’s Good Practice Guide for Access and Inclusion, Jean Hewitt, Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL and consultant at BuoHappold, will discuss the future of inclusive design and management, focusing on new areas including: mental health, wellbeing and design for neurodiversity.

This will be followed by a presentation from Jean’s colleagues, Phillip Barnett, leader of BuroHappold’s Asset Consultancy team, and Henrietta Horton, senior asset consultant, with a review of access and design components of asset management in the context of revenue optimisation and operational needs.
