Speakers

Cathy Hayward

Founder and Chair, Magenta Associates

Cathy set up Magenta Associates, workplace communications experts, in 2011 to plug the gap between the big PR agencies, which she felt have huge expertise but lack the in-depth knowledge of the clients and publications, and the one-man-bands, who she believes are brilliant with clients and journalists but often don’t have the necessary bandwidth or range of skills. Cathy now acts as Magenta’s chairman, supporting the agency’s existing clients and growing the businesses in the UK, Europe and North America.

Cathy has more than 20 years’ experience in a range of journalism, publishing and marketing roles, including founding and editing FM World (now Facilitate) magazine. She’s also chairman of the IWFM London Region and leads the events committee for CoreNet’s UK chapter. Cathy holds a Master’s degree in journalism and the CIPR’s Post-Graduate Diploma in public relations.

Brian Reeves

Head of Facilities, Design Museum, London

Brian has worked in the FM industry for 22 years across all aspects of the FM industry from tech start-ups in the late 90’s to global managing agents in St Pauls and almost everything between.  In 2016 after working for a series of blue-chip corporate organisations leading large multi-disciplined teams, Brian took up the challenge of building and leading a new FM department at the Design Museum in the Robert Matthew and Stirrat Johnson Marshall designed grade 2* listed former commonwealth institute in Holland Park.

Working for organisations such as Land Securities Trillium, CBRE and EMI gave Brian the opportunity to manage a broad range of fantastic buildings from Abbey Road Studios, a 32-storey office in the City through to the Metropolitan Police HQ all of which brought their own fulfilment and enriched experiences such as being called to go to Millbank Tower to lead the building management team during the student invasion or almost walking onto the set of live episode of Watchdog during the BBC mobilisation.
