‘Navigating turbulent times’ episode five: ‘Planning the return to work - what are the practicalities?’

Join us live on Thursday 21 May for episode five of ‘Navigating turbulent times’ when our expert panel looks at the practicalities of workers returning to the workplace.

Following the publication of the UK Government’s return to work guidance this week, many organisations are preparing their workplaces for returning employees, but what are the areas our profession needs to consider before reopening the doors?

From changing the office layout to accommodating social distancing and introducing new ways of working and meeting, to amending cleaning, maintenance, security and catering service delivery and working with other functions to achieve these changes, attendees will receive practical guidance to help them through the return to work. There will also be a Q&A where our expert panel tackles your questions.

You can submit your questions live during the webinar or email us ahead of time via: [email protected]

Should you like to remain anonymous if we select your question for the broadcast, please type ‘ANON’ in caps at the start of your message.

Register your place now, get involved, and we will help you navigate these turbulent times.

Speakers

Ravi Bhatnager

Account Director, Anabas

Ravi started his FM career as a security guard and it’s perhaps this frontline insight which has been the biggest contributor to his success. He moved into a training, recruitment and HR role within the same organisation before moving over to the UK in 2000 from his native Canada and joining Mitie. With just over 15 years there, Ravi worked across retail, healthcare, transport and corporate, but he realised that it was the office environment he enjoyed most. He then joined boutique facilities management provider Anabas as an account director where he manages several of the company’s key accounts. An experienced and articulate facilities professional with a demonstrable track record of delivering service excellence, Ravi has a proven ability to combine the operational FM delivery of both hard and soft services into a joined-up, seamless solution.

Alison English

Deputy CEO, Leesman

Allison joined Leesman in 2018 as client services director with a clear desire to involve herself in impactful work which would help improve the employee experience. With an educational background in visual communications and professional experience in process improvement, systems implementation and client engagement, she has helped drive innovation and strategic client collaboration with Leesman’s broad and diverse client base.

Having started her career in the US, honing project and account management skills, Allison progressed into working on-site at a key client, then leading a team for a new key client and later managing an ERP implementation, which brought her to Asia in 2013. She relocated to Hong Kong as the account director for the company’s largest global client and then transitioned to a broader role in Singapore. Upon moving to London in early 2017, Allison was tasked with expanding the UK presence of her previous employer and establishing an office in London before joining Leesman.

After spending time in dozens of offices around the Americas, APAC and EMEA, Allison’s exposure to various workplace settings and cultures results in a unique perspective of the workplace and how people interact with it. Client collaboration and developing strong partnerships have been central throughout Allison’s career which has now seen her appointed as Leesman’s deputy CEO in March 2020.

Cathy Hayward

Founder and Chair, Magenta Associates

Cathy set up Magenta Associates, workplace communications experts, in 2011 to plug the gap between the big PR agencies, which she felt have huge expertise but lack the in-depth knowledge of the clients and publications, and the one-man-bands, who she believes are brilliant with clients and journalists but often don’t have the necessary bandwidth or range of skills. Cathy now acts as Magenta’s chairman, supporting the agency’s existing clients and growing the businesses in the UK, Europe and North America.

Cathy has more than 20 years’ experience in a range of journalism, publishing and marketing roles, including founding and editing FM World (now Facilitate) magazine.
