‘Navigating turbulent times’ episode 13: ‘Skills in the post-COVID world: evolution or revolution?’

Register your place now for ‘Navigating turbulent times’ episode 13 when our expert guests examine future skills in the changing and challenging environment of a post Brexit, post COVID world.

Fundamental changes in automation and AI – the rise of big data and smart technology – pose questions and opportunities not only about how facilities professionals work, but how the workplace itself can be used as a flexible tool to enhance organisational performance and achieve the holy grail of higher productivity.

But the sector is facing a skills shortage. In IWFM research around three-quarters of respondents reported their organisation had found it difficult to recruit employees with the right skills over the last 12 months and expected the problem to continue.

And what are the right skills? A recent paper by IWFM’s International Special Interest Group argued that as people, workplace, technology and climate are interrelated, the skills needed for tomorrow’s facilities professional are more evolutionary than revolutionary.

If FM is about creating good experiences and productive workplaces, that don’t cost the earth, the right skills most definitely include a blend of technical knowledge and social insight. What else? What have we learned from COVID?

You can submit your questions live during the webinar or email us ahead of time via: [email protected]
