In today’s increasingly data driven and connected world the use of data allows organisations and citizens to operate in entirely new ways. When managed well, the use of data can support an organisation to achieve its operational objectives and interact with customers better than ever before.
When managed badly or left inadequately protected, data can become subjected to exposure, corruption or theft, this can negatively impact an organisations income, profits, operational performance and company value or share price.
Today, facilities, operations and estates departments use data and systems to bring improved financial, environmental and operational efficiency and wellbeing. This data is often attractive to maliciously minded or accidental attackers who may subvert and damage systems to gain access to the data – but who are these attackers, what do they want with facilities or operations data and why is it attractive to them. More importantly, is anyone looking after the risks they pose and if so, are they involving the facilities teams?
Our speaker, Andy Compton, is a Director with Cortida Limited a specialist information and cybersecurity consultancy and is an expert at understanding information security risks, creating appropriate security destinations and reducing risk at the fastest rate.
