Apprenticeships

Level 2 - Facilities Services Operative

Facilities Service Operative Level 2

The EPA for the Facilities Services Operative (Level 2) apprenticeship involves:

  • An online knowledge test sat under remotely invigilated conditions via Test Reach online assessment platform.
  • An observation to assess the knowledge, skills, and behaviours across the standard. The observation will be assessed by IWFM and can be completed remotely or face to face.
  • A professional discussion to assess the knowledge, skills, and behaviours across the standard. The professional discussion will be assessed by IWFM and will be informed by a portfolio reviewed as sufficient by IWFM at gateway.

The assessment methods can be delivered in any order – however, it is recommended (but not a requirement) that the multiple-choice examination be taken first, followed by the observation.

The assessment methods being used in this apprenticeship all require the apprentice to demonstrate their knowledge required of a Facilities Services Operative.

The full assessment plan can be accessed by clicking here.

Level 3 - Facilities Management Supervisor

Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3

The EPA for the FM Supervisor (Level 3) apprenticeship requires the apprentice to undertake the following:

  • An online knowledge test sat under remotely invigilated conditions via Test Reach online assessment platform
  • A competency-based interview (CBI) to assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours across the standard. The competency-based interview will be assessed by IWFM and carried out remotely.

The Apprentices must undertake the knowledge test first and are required to pass before they can undertake the competency-based interview.

The assessment methods (short-answer, multiple choice questions and oral questioning) being used in this apprenticeship all require the apprentice to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours in an integrated manner to deliver the learning outcomes required to meet the standard.

The full assessment plan can be accessed by clicking here.

Level 4 - Facilities Manager

Facilities Manager Level 4

The end-point assessment will be synoptic in design, sampling a sufficiency of knowledge, skills, and behaviours across the standard.

The synoptic end-point assessment (EPA) will contain the following components which will form the final assessment:

  • FM work-based project (submitted for marking prior to presentation) to assess components of knowledge, skills, and behaviours across the standard. This will be approved and assessed by an IWFM IEPA.
  • Presentation to assess components of quality and stakeholder management knowledge and skills. This will be carried out and assessed by an IWFM EPA panel.
  • Professional discussion based on the presentation, a portfolio, and reflective log, to assess components of knowledge, skills, and behaviours across the standard. This will be carried out and assessed by an IWFM EPA panel.
