As organisations grow and the nature of work environments evolves, the demand for effective workplace and facilities management (WFM) is surging. As such, the sector is reaching out to hardworking, dedicated and collaborative professionals to get involved - a natural fit for armed forces veterans looking for a new career path.

If you’re an armed forces veteran or simply want to find out more, join the upcoming webinar ‘Pathways to success: exploring careers in workplace and facilities management for armed forces leavers’ on Tuesday 17 September, 2-3pm UK time. IWFM and industry leaders will provide attendees with thorough insight into WFM, plus key themes like sustainability and transitioning into a civilian career.

Lorne Stewart Groups’ CEO of Facilities Services and IWFM Veterans in FM Network Committee member, Mark Sutcliffe CIWFM, said ‘The event is aimed at serving military personnel who may be leaving the services over the next 18 months. The aim is to introduce and showcase the WFM sector, explaining what WFM is and the different types of services we deliver.

‘It’s designed to highlight access to professional training and some of career opportunities the sector offers across service providers, client side and consultants. We’ll also show how the skillsets of ex-military can closely mirror the required skills within WFM and how to get started by utilising training opportunities and IWFM membership.’
