Evoke the spirit of World FM Day 2024 by joining IWFM’s International SIG (ISIG) for our hybrid event as we Inspire, Integrate and Innovate and help to Ignite careers in FM!  Celebrating this year’s theme, Chair Steve Gladwin FIWFM will host our interactive panel discussion based on our incredible profession's inspiration, integration and innovation and career ignition!  

Our expert panel, representing both client-side and service provider organisations, a leading university offering degree level FM learning will tackle questions on career pathways and professional development in workplace and facilities management and explore the significance of the IWFM Professional Standards.  They'll also take audience questions on any aspect of this year's WFMD theme, so get ready to grill them on the issues you care about.

Speakers

Antony Collett

Managing Director, Wates FM

Antony is a strategic director with a broad background in the facilities services sector, amounting to over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Wates Group in January 2023, Antony undertook senior roles at firms such as Mitie, Integral UK LTD, Verisae and Orange. At Wates Group, Antony plays a key role in the firm which delivers planned and responsive maintenance to more than 350 properties. Antony holds a qualification from the LBS.

Sean Gibbons MSc FIWFM FCMI CQP MCQI

Head of Global Real Estate and Facility Management, Roche Diagnostics

Sean leads a centre for best practice and guidance to support the provision of inspiring workplaces that are cost efficient, space efficient, sustainable and reflect the needs of users. Responsibility extends to FM and corporate real estate management strategies, processes, governance, hybrid working concepts, and facilities benchmarking across a global portfolio with a presence in more than 100 countries.

Sean holds an MSc in FM and, prior to joining Roche, worked in leadership positions in the Middle East and Europe for WS Atkins, Faithful+Gould and Zurich Financial Services.

Steve Gladwin

Chair, International SIG, IWFM

Steve Gladwin is a Director of Nodus Solutions Limited a privately-owned Facility Management company based in the UK providing FM and Consultancy advice to a broad range of clients ranging from large multi-national listed entities to public sector bodies.

He is also Course Trainer for the IWFM Academy and has developed and delivered training for the Institute (IWFM and previously BIFM Training) for over 15 years in:

  • Building Services
  • Asset and Maintenance Management
  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Contract Management
  • FM Strategy
  • FM Data, Performance Management and Lean Processes

He has lectured at Liverpool John Moore’s University, Sheffield Hallam University, Sydney University, Hong Kong Polytechnic and most recently Bolton University.

Actively involved in promoting and developing the FM and Building Maintenance sector, Steve is a regular guest speaker at conferences and has spoken at Property, Facilities and Building Maintenance conferences around the world.    

In an Asset and Maintenance Management advisory capacity, Steve has worked with Government departments in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and UK as well as large multi-national companies such Jaguar Land Rover, Shell Oil Company, Sainsburys, The Co-operative Group, Johnson & Johnson as well as a broad range of Universities and campus style environments.

In 2013, following 4 years as Lead Judge, Steve was appointed Chair of the IWFM Industry Excellence Awards.  He is also the Chair of the IWFM International Special Interest Group.

In 2017, Steve was made an Honorary Fellow of the Institute.  In 2020 was recognized in the IWFM Excellence Awards as for his contribution to the Industry and profession and the following was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award in the PFM Awards.

Steve is a Building Services Engineer by background and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New South Wales (Australian Graduate School of Management).  

He is a past Chairman of the Facilities Management Association, Australia and Global FM, a worldwide federation of national and international FM associations.

Jonathan Nobbs

Director of Membership and Partnership, IWFM

Jonathan is Director of Membership and Partnership at the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM).  He is accountable for membership standards, member value, corporate partnerships, the IWFM Training Academy and ensuring IWFM’s fantastic network of volunteers are supported to harness their passion for the Workplace and Facilities Management profession.

Jonathan is driven by the power of professions and the contribution they make to the world we share.  He has led several transformation programmes across global professions (including health, safety and sustainability) enabling their contribution to GDP to be understood, valued and underpinned by cutting edge programmes of upskilling.  Latterly, working with some of the largest brands in the world to improve skills and governance across global supply chains.

Jonathan has also held senior positions across the public and private sectors, including the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (as was).

Tim Stanbridge BSc CIWFM NEBOSH

Director, Global Facility Management & Real Estate, Ramboll, Denmark
Leading a global function to deliver sustainable, cost effective workplace management across more than 200 locations in 28 countries. Providing data led insights into office utilisation and service provision to deliver inspiring workplaces to support the varied activities conducted by the business around the world. Developing and delivering real estate and operational sustainability strategy to deliver on Net Zero carbon targets.

Anna Williamson

Head of FM for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, Bolton University
Practitioner and strategic leader in apprenticeship delivery and decision making. Over twenty years’ experience in the built environment, specialising in ESG and regenerative principles. Driving the development of collaborative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment on the sector leading FM degree apprenticeship at University of Bolton with responsibility for internal and external quality standards, to deliver outstanding pedagogy, curriculum development and learner experience
