Recently, we opened nominations for two Non-Executive Director (NED) roles on the IWFM Board. If you are considering nominating yourself or want to learn more, join IWFM Chair Mark Whittaker and one of our newest Board member's Jake Drummond plus Simone Fenton-Jarvis on this short webinar, followed by a Q&A

Mark will talk about the Board and the role requirements, and Jake will discuss his recent experience as a Board member, what attracted him to the role and the benefits to his career. Discover more, like how NEDs balance the role with a day job and advice for those considering nominating themselves. 

Please note: To be eligible to become an NED, you must be of Certified grade or above and held that grade for at least 6 months. Simone Fenton-Jarvis

Founder and Chief Workplace Officer, The Human-Centric Workplace

Simone has over 13 years’ experience in FM and Workplace. Simone believes an organisation needs to put people first, and it’s this belief that has driven her initiatives and work within the industry. Simone is an advocate for lifelong learning, has completed an MBA in FM, is a keen reader, and a regular attendee at events. She is also a Fellow of IWFM and the vice-chair of the Workspace Special Interest Group. Her hope is to drive an industry where workplace FM is truly recognised as a key for all businesses.

Mark Whittaker

IWFM Chair, IWFM
Mark Whittaker, CIWFM, was appointed the role of IWFM Chair on 1 October 2021. Mark has worked in our profession for 18 years, and has a leading role in consultancy at Thomson FM Ltd. His journey with the Institute started a decade ago, when he answered a LinkedIn post asking for volunteers to help with the then BIFM Lancashire Group. In the years that followed, he became Deputy Chair and then Chair of IWFM North Region. Under his leadership, the team was named ‘Region of the Year’ three years running. Mark was awarded "BIFM Regional Volunteer of the Year" in 2015 and has since been an ambassador for IWFM’s Career of Choice school’s programme. He joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2019 and also serves on the Audit & Risk Committee. His new role begins on 1 October.
