Conference 2020

We have launched our 2020 national conference, announcing the theme of ‘navigating turbulent times’, which will see expert speakers tackle four of the sector’s - and the world’s - greatest challenges.

Taking place on Tuesday 24 March at etc. venues St Paul’s in Central London, IWFM Conference 2020 - the second national event we’ve held since rebranding from BIFM in 2018 - will feature insightful and inspiring talks on the new decade’s key issues. The emphasis will be on four megatrends impacting the global economy:

  • climate change
  • technology
  • the future of work
  • wellbeing.

‘We live in an age of ongoing advancement and disruption,’ said Linda Hausmanis, IWFM CEO. ‘What this conference will make plain is that, through utilising the workplace discipline, facilities management can - and should - be a leader in tackling the profound challenges and opportunities that arise. FMs’ hands are on some of the key levers of positive change for organisations - from environmental sustainability to wellbeing. We want them to realise that power. On 24 March, attendees will depart brimming with insights, ideas and practical tools that they can apply in their organisations right away.’

The hundreds expected to attend IWFM Conference 2020 will benefit from excellent networking opportunities and leading speakers, including: an arctic explorer; the founder of a leading mental health charity; the CEO of a major tech firm; a top government advisor, broadcaster and expert in modern business practices; and more.

Director of Insight Chris Moriarty said: ‘We broke the mould last year by bringing in experts from outside our profession to excite and challenge us. The vibe on the day and the great feedback afterwards has inspired us to build on that for 2020. Workplace and facilities professionals have so much in their power to help everyone at work do great work. I want this conference to help them to unleash that.’

We’ve also confirmed our sponsors for the conference.

The Insight Sponsor is workplace and facilities management provider EMCOR UK, who said of the event: ‘We believe the megatrends and external forces impacting the FM sector present everyone with an opportunity and a threat – both in equal measure. Adapt to succeed; we’re delighted to be at the heart of this conference as Insight sponsor and look forward to participating in shaping a positive future for our sector.’

Planon, an innovative facility and property management software company, is returning as Technology Sponsor. They said: ‘Planon is delighted to once again be Technology Sponsor for the IWFM Conference, providing the opportunity to network with workplace and facilities professionals, share our knowledge and demonstrate our commitment to the industry.’

IWFM Conference 2020 takes place Tuesday 24th March at etc. venues St Paul’s, London, EC1A 4HD.
