Our well-established Pay and Prospects Survey helps us to identify trends in pay, working conditions and prospects for new and established workplace and facilities management professionals.

After a year in which Brexit and COVID-19 have caused various changes and complications, there has never been a more important time to take a pulse check of our profession and provide you with an informed picture of its current landscape and what awaits us on the horizon.

But we can only do it with your help. Please take a moment to complete the survey and share your valuable experiences with us for the benefit of our profession.

Take the survey

The survey will close on Friday 19 March and please be assured that all information you provide will be treated confidentially. We will only share data at an aggregate level.

Further information

The IWFM Pay and Prospects Survey usually runs annually; however, we decided to skip a year in 2020 simply because we felt it was inappropriate timing: the pandemic, the resulting national lockdown and subsequent furlough scheme uptake were all placing our profession under extraordinary strain.

The findings from the survey provide a snapshot of salaries, benefits, and training and qualifications throughout the profession, whilst also allowing us to explore evolving trends in sentiments and experiences.

The core finding from our last Pay and Prospects Survey in 2019 was that challenging or interesting work was critical to the participants’ choice of employer. Workplace and facilities managers wanted recognition, a good work-life balance and challenging experiences – but suitable remuneration remained the most important factor, which can require upskilling to achieve.

Please take part in this year’s survey and ensure your experience contributes towards a wider understanding of the trends, practices and realities of the workplace and facilities management profession.
