Overview

The IWFM Sustainability Survey 2022 focused on three key areas of sustainability – carbon and net zero, circular economy and wellbeing – through three surveys which were supplemented by insights from a workshop with industry professionals.

For each of the three areas, we explored whether and how organisations were addressing the challenges, what drivers and barriers they faced in doing so, and how workplace and facilities management professionals were supporting organisations’ targets, whether in-house or outsourced.

Since our last report, global progress on carbon reduction has remained frustratingly slow, despite the ‘Code Red’ warning. Summer 2022 saw the UK experience record high temperatures across large parts of the country, giving many of us first-hand experience of the reality of inaction. More positively, the UN biodiversity COP15 saw almost 200 countries agree to legally binding commitments to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.

Crystal clear is the need to step up collaborations in tackling climate change and biodiversity, to see promises turned to action, and good outcomes for all. Against this backdrop, what do this year’s findings tell us about carbon and net zero, circular economy and wellbeing?

Join us to find out and put your questions to our panel.
