IWFM Conference 2020: meet our mega trend speakers (part one)

News

14 January 2020

IWFM Conference 2020 will help the profession ‘navigate turbulent times’ in March as we tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges and opportunities.

While the day will cover a variety of topics, our main focus will be on global mega trends: forces that shape our interconnected world and futures in profound ways, and directly impact what workplace and facilities managers do every day.

With the help of four outstanding speakers, from backgrounds ranging from arctic exploration to top level political advice, the mega trends we’ll cover are: climate change; wellbeing; technology; and the future of work.

To give you a taste of what to expect, here are two of the mega trend sessions coming to IWFM Conference 2020:

Mega trend 1

Conference speaker

Explorer and eminent eco advocate Pen Hadow (Twitter handle: @PenHadow) will cover our first megatrend and an issue which Sir David Attenborough calls ‘the major challenge facing the world’: climate change. With the built environment contributing an estimated 40% of the UK’s carbon emissions, what can our profession do to be the change society and organisations need?

To find out more about Pen Hadow and his talk, please visit the IWFM Conference website.

Mega trend 3

Conference speaker

Leading our third mega trend, technology, is author and thought leader Dave Coplin (Twitter handle: @dcoplin). As ‘Chief Envisioning Officer’/founder of The Envisioners, Dave helps professionals and businesses conceive their future and the important role technology will play in it. With machine learning dubbed the most important general purpose technology of our time, how do we future proof the profession and utilise tech to its full potential?

Find out more about Dave and his talk here.

Part two will follow soon with information on our other mega trend topics and their speakers.
