Volunteers play a huge role at IWFM and, for Volunteers Week 2025 (2-8th June), it’s time to show our appreciation to the heroes of our organisation. From their day-to-day work leading our community groups to driving our strategic initiatives, our volunteers make an immense contribution to our mission to enhance and develop our sector.
So to all our volunteers, from everyone at IWFM – thank you!

Gain essential skills, build leadership qualities and address some of the critical challenges facing the industry.
Sarah Orpwood, National Facilities Manager at Maritime Transport, said, ‘Being an IWFM volunteer has expanded my professional network, developed my confidence, boosted my career and enabled me to make an impact in WFM. I’ve connected with industry leaders, inspirational mentors and gained valuable skills, including event management, networking, public speaking and leadership.’
