If you're a workplace and facilities manager (WFM) with any kind of role in asset management, you'll find yourself responsible not just for the physical assets themselves, but for the information that's needed to manage their lifecycle – from acquisition, daily use and maintenance through to obsolescence and disposal. Strategic asset management (SAM) involves optimising that lifecycle in order to gain maximum operational value from them.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Amey to produce a brand new series of Good Practice Guides, aimed at anyone in WFM who needs to build a greater, deeper understanding of strategic asset management (SAM) as it relates to their job.
This comprehensive five-part series of Good Practice Guides is available free of charge to IWFM members. Clicking here to register to receive them. They’ll also be available for purchase by non-members.
Starting Monday 16 June 2025, the guides will be released over a five-week period, giving you the opportunity to take this vital and comprehensive guidance on board at your own pace. We’ll be walking through the series in a webinar from midday on the 18 June. You can register for the webinar – ‘Closing the strategic asset management knowledge gap, in partnership with Amey’ here.
IWFM’s Interim Head of Policy and Insight, Andrew Gladstone-Heighton, said: ‘Asset management is central to the role of WFMs in nearly all sectors, but in many environments it’s a discipline in itself. Our members told us that there was a real need for greater knowledge of the importance of strategic asset management in their organisations, and of the tools and techniques involved in scoping and delivering on an SAM strategy. We’re excited to work with Amey to respond with such a comprehensive and useful series of guides.’
