18 June 2025 12pm – 1pm Zoom webinar

Overview

Join us on 18 June, 12-1pm for this webinar discussing the huge opportunity for workplace and facilities managers (WFMs) to upskill into strategic asset management (SAM).

WFMs can make a significant difference in maximising the lifespan and impact of the facilities they maintain and monitor.

With more specialist knowledge, we can make a significant difference and overcome the disparate methods of data definition, delivery and assurance and the shortcomings of traditional asset capture, database creation and asset information use.

By embracing digital technology, meeting relevant data standards and taking a whole asset life cycle information management approach, WFMs can upskill asset teams to deliver better data, better information and achieve better outcomes for the built environment. This can increase efficiencies, reduce costs and safeguard against threats to a business.

IWFM, in partnership with Amey, have produced a Strategic Asset Management Good Practice Guide in five guides which will be released over the next few weeks.

The series will cover the Five P’s of planning, people, process, portfolio, and performance

  • SAM Guide 1 - Strategic asset management (SAM) Introduction
  • SAM Guide 2 - Strategic considerations
  • SAM Guide 3 - Asset Information Management (AIM)
  • SAM Guide 4 - Asset Lifecycle Information
  • SAM Guide 5 - Good practice methods and techniques, including the Golden Thread and Building Safety Act

IWFM’s Head of Policy and Insight Andrew Gladstone-Heighton will set out the background to the series, and an overview of the Good Practice Guides.

Our panellists will provide their expertise, context and case studies on the following themes, and will highlight the key takeaways:

  • Strategic considerations in Asset Information Management (AIM), and how best to get buy in across.
  • Asset Lifecycle Information, Golden Thread principles and case studies.

There will be an opportunity to ask the panel questions.
