ISO committee reflects on growing role of technology in FM

The recent ‘virtual’ meeting of ISO/TC 267, the ISO technical committee charged with the development and maintenance of the ISO 41001 FM Management Systems’ Standard, shone a light on the work of its Technology Working Group.

The group’s extensive remit ranges from cyber-security through CAFM systems to IoT and AI, looking at the scope, key concepts and potential benefits each technology can offer, particularly in the changed post-pandemic world.

Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, ISO/TC 267 also has a responsibility for liaising with other standards in associated disciplines which have a potential impact on the management and operation of workplace and FM services.

Anyone who is willing to contribute to the UK committee’s work can contact [email protected] enclosing a CV showing relevant experience.

If you are interested in helping with ISO’s work in any other country, please contact your local National Standards body.

Further information on the work of the committee is available here.
