The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) is about to welcome a new Chair as Mark Whittaker’s four-year tenure in the post comes to an end.
Andrew Hulbert will formally take over the position at the IWFM AGM on 24 July, having served as Deputy Chair for the past four years.
Founder of Pareto Facilities Management, Andrew has been closely involved with IWFM for more than 14 years, and is a much-respected figure throughout the workplace and facilities management industry. He was, at one time, IWFM’s youngest Fellow, and was recognised at the IWFM awards for his Outstanding Contribution to Workplace and Facilities Management. He is co-founder of ‘Tomorrow Meets Today’ – a social enterprise that runs events designed to promote diversity within the FM sector.
Paying tribute to his predecessor, Andrew shared a welcome statement as he takes over the post: ‘The Institute stands poised for a period of exciting evolution, building upon the solid foundation laid by my predecessor Mark Whittaker… My ambition is to shape a bright future for the Institute, ensuring its continued commercial success, its position at the forefront of industry thinking and its commitment to inclusivity. By doing so, we can maximise the Institute’s value, plus that of professionals, organisations and the sector overall.’
IWFM’s CEO, Linda Hausmanis, said: ‘I am exceptionally grateful to Institute Chair Mark Whittaker who steps down in July after four years’ service. Mark’s intelligent, thoughtful and steadying leadership over this critical period has done much to enhance the Board’s effectiveness and IWFM’s wider impact.
‘I know his successor Andrew Hulbert… will build on this legacy to move the Institute forward. I look forward to working with Andrew towards positive results for profession, people and planet.’
Andrew will be introducing the upcoming issue of Facilitate magazine, followed by a more wide-ranging interview in the issue that follows.
