What we’ve reported on

We’re just the other side of a Budget statement that, if you’ll forgive us, seems to have been delivered in real time for the best part of a month already. Now it’s finally fully published, its impact on our sector is something we’re writing about now and into the week ahead.

We’ve reported several signs of corporate real estate market movement (both positive and negative), several valuable pieces of guidance (IWFM’s own information management good practice guide key among them) and explainers linked to Awaab’s Law, the ongoing progress of the Employment Rights Bill, and more.

What we’re working on

New IWFM Head of Judges Sarah Hodge is a prominent player in our next print edition, and while Sarah has much to say about an extraordinary career that spans FM’s early days right through to the present, there’s a link to an emerging new talent - and an issue that both have faced - that we’re looking forward to reporting on. (We’ll leave it at that for now.)

We’ve also got an item on the tenth anniversary of building information models becoming mandatory on government property. It’s been quite a decade since, but have the hopes for facilities management’s progression via association with this technology been realised?

We’re also looking at the myriad ways in which outsourcers are partnering with third party providers to bulk up and extend their service offerings. Oh yes, and we’ve a couple of new presentation formats on the boil too, of which more next tine out.

Several perennial concerns were raised while we also discussed the role of artificial intelligence in the shaping of new software solutions.
