On Wednesday 28 November, IWFM and Planon joined forces to present our newest webinar masterclass ‘Setting you on your digital maturity journey’, following on from last week’s ‘Building a digital maturity pathway for smart(er) organisations’ and the release of a fresh guidance note. The expert panel was hosted by IWFM’s Director of Communications and Insight, Jenny Thomas, and featured industry leader Gordon Mitchell, Planon’s Head of Sales UK, Alex Rogers, and Adidas’ Senior Facilities Manager, UK and Ireland, Dan Stephen.  

Over the course of the masterclass, the panel discussed why digital innovation is no longer a perk for organisations, but instead now serves as a vital element of overall success, which necessitates professionals acting on recent developments. The guidance note outlined the pathway to digital maturity for organisations, while the masterclass intended to set professionals and organisations on the way to digital maturity, realising the benefits of digital innovation, such as increased productivity, lower costs, support for ESG and sustainability outcomes, while also helping organisations overcome challenges like fragmented data and sourcing technical savvy staff.  

Each expert on the panel delved into a specific aspect of digital maturity, helping to bring the wider topic to life. Mitchell, author of the guidance note, presented two case studies on different organisations midway through their digital journey; Stephen, a practitioner, shared his perspective of putting digital maturity into practice to deliver strategic outcomes; lastly, Rogers introduced a case study touching on the most relevant issues. The masterclass aimed to be as interactive and actionable as possible, publishing polls and inviting the audience to submit questions to steer the discussion.
