In November we shared quotes from five of the 15 passionate and knowledgeable workplace and facilities management professionals who make up the IWFM Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Focus Group: the vehicle for IWFM and our volunteers to drive real change in our sector.
We are now sharing the thoughts of five more members of the Group on why EDI is important to them. Check back soon for the third and final instalment.

I have worked as a specialist in access and inclusion to the built environment since 2001, focusing on achieving equality, comfort and wellbeing. I remain as passionate about access and inclusion as I was at the outset and I am excited to see this gradually moving mainstream alongside other aspects of wellbeing.

As someone with dyslexia and a son who was born disabled, I have a deep personal as well as a professional interest in diversity and inclusion. My dyslexia has meant a continued fight to be accepted as an equal. I passionately believe that as an industry, we need to do more in this area.

For me, diversity and inclusion is the next phase of restoring civil rights to humanity. This is a challenge for society as a collective and not just for individual companies or countries. I want to be a part of this collective to share ideas and information on how we can make this work.
