On Monday 15 April, nominations will open for two Non-Executive Director (NED) vacancies on the IWFM Board. As part of our enhanced drive for equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the sector, IWFM is calling on eligible Certified grade and above members from all backgrounds to apply. Furthermore, members can nominate themselves.

We welcome and encourage applicants from all members of the community regardless of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief, marital status, pregnancy or any other personal circumstances.

If you’re eligible to become a NED, you will receive an email from our independent scrutineers, UK Engage, explaining the process and how to self-nominate via an online platform.

Nominations will close on 10 May, with the new NEDs announced at the IWFM AGM, which will take place on 25 July 2024. There will also be an opportunity to join the AGM virtually and registration will open soon.

Here is what IWFM Chair and NED Mark Whittaker had to say about serving on the IWFM Board:

‘I was elected as a Non-Executive Director for IWFM five years ago and it has been a huge honour to be a NED over that time, and more recently as Chair of IWFM for the last three years. Although the role requires commitment in terms of time and effort, it is hugely rewarding and I have learnt so much professionally and personally over that time. From an Institute point of view, it is so important that we have a diverse range of NEDs on the Board, who bring a variety of viewpoints and outlook and who can help steer the strategic direction of IWFM, whilst representing the interests of our members.”
