May/June 2024’s edition of Facilitate is hot off the press, providing a breadth of views on key workplace and facilities management (WFM) topics. Taking pride of place is the armed forces community, including insight into why WFM is such a good career choice for former Army, Navy and RAF veterans, plus how the sector can make the most of veterans’ experience and skills. IWFM board member Luke Folwell discusses his post-forces WFM career, while the IWFM team shares updates from the new Veterans in FM network.

Additionally, with recent UK legislative changes concerning flexible working, Facilitate explores how organisations have responded, to what extent the changes benefit today’s professionals and whether flexible working effectively covers professionals that don’t work in offices. Furthermore, Facilitate explores how resilient a number of sectors are to AI replacement, with hospitality and food services ranking highly.

Elsewhere, Facilitate includes: a discussion with EMCOR UK chief executive Cheryl McCall, the importance of exercise in professional wellbeing, reflections on how the sustainability debate in WFM has evolved over decades, plus a perspective from IWFM CEO Linda Hausmanis in light of the recent World FM Day.
