IWFM at The Workplace Event 2026
From 28–30 April, IWFM will be at the NEC Birmingham for The Workplace Event 2026 – three days dedicated to the ideas, insight and innovation shaping the future of workplaces and the facilities management profession.
As employee expectations continue to shift and organisations place greater emphasis on experience, wellbeing and performance, this year’s event offers an important opportunity for workplace and FM professionals to come together, learn from one another and explore practical responses to change. IWFM will be at the heart of the conversation throughout the event.
Visit the IWFM stand
Across all three days, the IWFM team will be on our main stand, ready to speak with visitors about the challenges facing the profession and how the Institute supports individuals and organisations at every stage of their journey.
Whether you are looking to develop your own career, strengthen capability within your organisation or better understand how the profession is evolving, the stand will be a place to ask questions, share experiences and gain practical guidance. Visitors can find out more about IWFM membership, qualifications and professional development pathways.
The stand will also offer professional development advice, with focused conversations around skills, standards and next steps. You’ll meet experts from the nationwide IWFM community will be on hand to help manage footfall and make sure you get the most from your time with the IWFM team.
Join IWFM-led sessions
IWFM experts will be leading conference sessions across the first two days of the event, bringing the Institute’s insight and expertise to discussions taking place on the main stages and themed hubs.
On Tuesday at 13.45, IWFM will chair a Workplace Leaders Summit panel focused on operational excellence, examining how organisations can build resilient, efficient and people-centred workplaces. The discussion will explore practical approaches to managing complexity, improving performance and designing services that support both people and organisational outcomes.
On Wednesday at 13.40, IWFM will lead a further Workplace Leaders Summit session looking at how the role of the modern workplace professional is changing. The panel will consider how FM is moving beyond traditional boundaries, with greater emphasis on strategic partnership, sustainability, technology and employee experience.
We’ll also feature in hub sessions, including a Technology and Smart Buildings Hub discussion ‘From information to intelligence’ led by Gordon Mitchell FIWFM, IWFM Technology Special Interest Group Chair (Tuesday, 12 noon), and a Culture and Wellbeing Hub panel (Wednesday 12 noon) opening up a conversation on men’s wellbeing at work. This session will explore workplace culture, leadership and practical ways to support healthier conversations and behaviours.
And the IWFM Women in FM Network will be available in the networking cafe.
