The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management is inviting applications for up to three Co-Opted Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to join our Board and help steer the strategic direction of the profession.
As a Co-Opted NED, you will play a vital role in strengthening the Board’s collective skills, insight and experience. This is an opportunity to contribute at the highest level of governance, providing independent judgement, constructive challenge and strategic oversight to support IWFM’s mission and values.

What we’re looking for
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in:
- Digital and technology transformation
- Education, training and professional development
- Marketing, communications and member engagement
- International or multi-sector experience
You don’t need to cover all areas – appointments will ensure a balanced mix of skills across the Board. What matters most is your ability to think strategically, exercise sound judgment, and constructively challenge and support executive leadership.
The commitment
- Volunteer role (reasonable expenses reimbursed)
- Up to four Board meetings per year, plus occasional additional engagement
- Term of office: up to four years
- Meetings held in central locations with good transport links
