IWFM News Facilitate Update 2-12 March 2026
What we’ve reported on
International Women’s Day marked an important date in the calendar and, as some of you will already know, Facilitate was in attendance at IWFM’s relaunch of the Women in FM Network. There was a clear call from new chair Christy Smith and many other network members for greater inclusion of and progress for women in the sector.
On the subject of women’s progress, we spoke with Kingdom Cleaning’s Lucy Lloyd about how her business – and the cleaning sector more broadly – are working to create greater opportunities for women.
You are about to receive the March-April 2026 print edition of Facilitate. We’ve gone for a somewhat unusual cover image this time, linked to our piece on meanwhile uses and the changing commercial estate environment. You’ll also get to know TIm Stanbridge of IWFM’s Strategic Leaders’ Forum and find out more about the changing nature of outsourced suppliers’ partnering strategies. (As always we’d love to hear about what resonated most with you from the latest edition.)
What we’re working on
Needless to say we’ve immediately turned our attention to the next production cycle. Each aspect of resilience is on our agenda, both personal-professional and organisational, with the managed estate playing its part. How is resilience perceived within the sector and more broadly?
We will also be revisiting biophilic design and how workplace and facilities managers can be maximising its effects to support workplace users. While our article on relational spaces brings a fresh take on how sector professionals can boost the experience for end-users.
If you read one Facilitate piece…
We’re going for topicality here. Whether short or long term, the impact of the current Middle-East turmoil will rise up the agenda in the months ahead. And speaking of resilience, it’s a topic that only deepens in its importance and urgency when applied to energy. Here’s how JLL established that reliability and resilience are key determining factors in investment, development and operational strategies.
