As 2025 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank every one of you, across all our communities, for your commitment, energy and passion throughout the year. Together, we’ve continued to demonstrate the vital role workplace and facilities professionals play in shaping better environments for people and organisations.

A big push for public sector engagement as we spoke to HMRC property professionals, and then kicked off the judging process for the IWFM Impact Awards.

A scholarship to inspire careers. March marked the return of the Deborah Rowland Scholarship, reinforcing our commitment to social mobility.

Support for our growing communities, with a series of webinars to recruit new volunteers, plus the launch of our Tech Survival Guide bitesize training.

Our Market Outlook Report – Facilitate the future. We revealed a sector marked by resilience and growth, and we celebrated World FM Day under the theme ‘Resilience in action’.

On the sixth day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…
A spotlight on sustainability. June launched our Sustainability Survey and hosted events on decarbonising workplaces, and we launched our major new series of strategic asset management guides.

A new Chair! In July we welcomed Andrew Hulbert FIWFM as the new IWFM Chair, celebrated our AGM and announced finalists for the 25th IWFM Impact Awards.

On the eighth day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…
A focus on leadership and learning. August introduced our Level 6 Strategic Leadership Programme and refreshed our Career of Choice guidance for schools.

On the ninth day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…
A celebration of new talent, as we introduced the recipients of the Deborah Rowland Scholarship, while September saw the launch of our landmark Market Intelligence Report.

On the tenth day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…
A glittering night of recognition. October brought the 25th IWFM Impact Awards, hosted by Gabby Logan, shining a spotlight on excellence and innovation. Such an inspirational evening!

On the eleventh day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…
The ultimate guide to Information Management. Meanwhile IWFM Scotland Region held a sold-out conference and AGM. (And there was something to do with a budget.)

And on the twelfth day of Christmas, IWFM brought to me…

A well-earned break. As Andrew Hulbert said at this year’s Awards, ‘The work we do matters’, and it’s your work and your commitment to this profession that make our Institute stronger, more resilient and ready for the future.
