The first IWFM Strategic Asset Management Roadshow will be calling at six locations around the UK. This event registration is for the Bristol session.
This unique travelling session will feature a panel of experts from IWFM’s Strategic Leaders Forum, Technology SIG and Sustainability SIG alongside a regional expert at each location.
With an increasing focus on AI and digitalisation, our panel of strategic and operational experts will explore how organisations can manage assets more efficiently and effectively to maximise value across the asset lifecycle.
Attendees are invited to join us from 1.00pm for a networking buffet lunch, providing an opportunity to connect with fellow professionals before the session begins promptly at 2.00pm.
What you’ll learn
Why should an asset be managed? Why can’t we simply run it until failure? What are the implications of poorly managed assets?
These are all concepts linked by the Golden Thread.
As an industry, we’re moving away from the traditional ‘Race to the bottom’ approaches and focusing more on economically, environmentally and financially sustainable solutions. This aligns with the growing compliance and legislative pressures, as well as revised ISO standards and other industry frameworks. Now is the time to embrace a step change in asset management.

Steve Gladwin MBA, Hon FIWFM
Steve is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM).
In 2005 he received the IFMA recognition award for global contribution to FM as a result of his position as Chair of the Facilities Management Association, Australia and then Chair of Global FM.
More recently in 2020, he was recognized in the IWFM Excellence Awards for his contribution to industry and profession. The following year was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in the PFM Awards.
In 2013, following 4 years as Lead Judge, Steve was appointed Chair of the IWFM Industry Excellence Awards and held this position for 6 years. He was also the Chair of the IWFM International Special Interest Group.
He is a Director of Nodus Solutions Limited a privately-owned Facility Management company based in the UK providing FM and Consultancy advice to a broad range of clients ranging from large multi-national listed entities to public sector bodies.
He is also a Course Trainer for the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) Academy and has developed and delivered training for the Institute for over 15 years.
He has lectured at Liverpool John Moore’s University, Sheffield Hallam University, Sydney University, Hong Kong Polytechnic and most recently lectures at University of Greater Manchester on their Level 6 BSc FM Degree Apprenticeship program.
Steve is a Building Services Engineer by background and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New South Wales (Australian Graduate School of Management).
Chris Jeffers
With more than 20 years’ experience in the property and FM sectors, Chris is currently Director and Head of Facility Management Advisory at Mott MacDonald.
His specialities include FM strategy, procurement and contract management, service improvement initiatives, delivering sustainable workspace and property service solutions for a wide range of built facilities.
Chris is a permanent member of the LSWG, past chair of the IWFM Procurement Special Interest Group and regularly contributes to a number of industry bodies and initiatives.
Gordon Mitchell FIWFM

Jade Shih
Jade is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers. She is currently Specialist Building Systems Engineer at UWE Bristol, managing the Building Management System across the university's estate. She is leading the development of practical governance frameworks for a live estate, alongside overseeing legacy BMS maintenance and migration.
Jade's earlier career was spent in onshore gas processing, working across process, operations, commissioning, and project engineering roles. These experiences have shaped her approach to risk-based, practical asset governance. She has also previously served as UWE Bristol's Head of Circular Economy, delivering practical initiatives to meet the university's ambitious net-zero and sustainability targets.
