IWFM members at Certified grade and above are invited to put themselves forward for one of two Non-Executive Director (NED) vacancies on the IWFM Board, with nominations opening on Monday 13 April. This is an important opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Institute and contribute to strengthening the profession at a pivotal moment for workplace and facilities management.
Our Board plays a central role in guiding IWFM’s strategy, ensuring accountability, and supporting the organisation’s longterm ambitions. Becoming a NED offers a chance to influence this work while bringing valuable insight and experience from across our diverse membership.
Andrew Hulbert first became a non-executive director in 2020, and is now IWFM Chair. He said: ‘Putting yourself forward for the IWFM Board is a real chance to help drive our profession forward at a time of rapid change. This isn’t a passive role. You’ll be joining one of the most diverse and active boards I’ve ever worked with – a group that challenges, debates and genuinely cares about the future of workplace and facilities management. We’re looking for people with energy, ideas and a commitment to shaping what comes next. If you are eligible, I encourage you to step up. Your voice could make a powerful difference to the direction of the Institute and our profession.’
IWFM is committed to attracting a wide range of voices to its governance and welcomes applicants regardless of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief, marital status, pregnancy or any other personal circumstances. We want our Board to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
Eligible members will receive an email from our independent scrutineers, UK Engage, outlining the nomination process and providing access to the online platform where selfnominations can be submitted. Please check your spam or junk folders to ensure you do not miss this communication.
Nominations will close on 8 May. The successful candidates will be announced at the IWFM AGM on 23 July 2026, taking place at The Exchange in Birmingham, with an option to join virtually. Please save the date; registration will open soon.
