Workplace and facilities managers are critical guardians of risk in their organisations and many hold direct health and safety responsibility.

The NEBOSH National General Certificate is ideal for WFM professionals to build their health and safety knowledge and understand how you can meet legal requirements, maintain compliance and ensure your workplace is a safe place to be.

This qualification is delivered in conjunction with International Workplace by industry experts and tailored to give workplace and facilities management professionals (WFM) everything they need to know to make their workplace safer. The NEBOSH courses are delivered using workplace and facilities management experiences and examples to ensure the course is relatable to WFMs.

  2. An exclusive veterans course designed specifically to support armed forces veterans to transition into civilian roles in workplace and facilities management

What will you learn?

Completing the NEBOSH General Certificate with IWFM will help you have a broader focus on health and safety responsibilities within workplace and facilities management.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will:

  • How to effectively manage health and safety
  • How to identify and control common workplace hazards
  • How to monitor health and safety performance
  • The UK’s key legal requirements

How long is it for?

This course is delivered over 8 1-day sessions. All of the NEBOSH courses delivered with IWFM include a revision session to prepare for the open book exam. 

Dates of the 8 1-day sessions will be Mondays throughout October and November. Starting on Monday 7th October with the last session delivered on Monday 25th November, an additional revision session will be delivered on Monday 2nd December ahead of the open book exam on Wednesday 4th December.

How will I be assessed?

  • The NEBOSH General Certificate is assessed through an open book exam and a practical assessment. NG1 online open book exam: Wednesday 4th of December 2024 - 11 am UK time (learners will have until 11am UK time on the 5th of December 2024 to complete and submit their assessment) 

  • NG2 practical risk assessment based on a workplace environment. Submission deadline: Monday 16th of December 2024.

Live virtual training via Teams

In order to be part of our virtual training session, you will need: 

  • Access to a computer (PC or Mac) which has a microphone and web cam included (or an additional microphone and web cam installed and set up) 

  • A strong internet connection 

  • A pair of headphones 

  • A quiet area of your home where you can concentrate, uninterrupted
