As climate‑related risks intensify, workplace and facilities managers have a central role in preparing buildings, estates and organisations for the challenges ahead. This new guidance offers practical, evidence‑based approaches and operational actions to help WFMs develop their own climate adaptation strategies.
The webinar will introduce the key themes from the guidance and set out how WFMs can drive climate adaptation across their organisations. The discussion will consider governance, implementing climate resilient solutions and the practical steps organisations can take to safeguard their assets.

Andrew Gladstone-Heighton
Andrew is an experienced policy analyst with over a decade's experience of working in the post 14 education sector, devolved government & membership organisation in the built environment and environmental services.
He has an awarding body and policy professional background with a Bachelor's Degree focused in Political Science and Government from Newcastle University.
He is also chair of a primary school board of governors. In his spare time, he is an artist, musician & occasional essayist.
James Heritage
James is the Climate Risk and Adaptation Manager at Equans. With more than 12 years’ experience in the facilities management sector, he has held a range of roles spanning project management, business development and strategic planning.
Over the past year, James has led the development of an innovative mechanism to identify, evaluate and mitigate climate-related risks in buildings, with a particular focus on supporting public sector estates. His work is helping organisations better understand their exposure to climate impacts and strengthen their long-term resilience.
James is passionate about preparing the built environment for a changing climate. He is committed to sharing knowledge, insight and practical solutions to help organisations adapt and build a more resilient future together.
Peter Leighton-Jones CEnv FISEP FICRS
With 20 years of experience as a sustainability professional, Peter has worked in a leadership capacity across a variety of public sector roles involving broad-based environmental and decarbonisation programmes. He is also a fellow member of ISEP, a chartered environmentalist, and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS). He currently works as a ‘head of sustainability’ at an acute hospital NHS trust.
Peter is passionate about finding pragmatic and innovative solutions to the problems faced by society, the economy, and the environment, as well as exploring and seeking to address the complex interrelationships and dependencies between each strand of the overall agenda
